2月9日株式が900円以上値下がりし、長期国債の金利が史上初のマイナスになりました。

なぜ長期国債がマイナスに転じたのでしょうか？

どうして長期国債の金利がマイナスに転じたのでしょうか？

先月の末に日銀は「マイナス金利」政策を実施しました。

通常、民間金融機関は、日銀にお金を預けています。

今回の「マイナス金利」は、日銀が金利をマイナスにすることで、民間金融機関がお金を預けていると損をする状態にしました。

日銀の思惑としては、市場に資金を流通させるために、民間金融機関が日銀に預けている金利をマイナスにしました。

民間金融機関は、このまま預けていると損をするため、住宅ローンや中小企業の設備投資に資金をまわすと考えました。

そうすることで、経済が活性化するというシナリオだったようです。

しかし、民間金融機関は、資金を住宅ローンや設備投資ではなく、人気の高い長期国債にまわしたのです。

長期国債は一気に人気が高まりとうとうマイナスに転じる形になったということです。

  • 住宅ローンの金利が下がる

日銀としては、民間金融機関には、住宅ローンや中小企業に資金をまわして欲しかったのでしょうが、長期国債購入といった動きになりました。

みごとに思惑が外れたといった感じでしょうか。

今回の騒動で、私たちの生活に生じる影響としては、すぐには、及ぼさないというのが専門家の見解だそうです。

つまり、すぐには、銀行は、金利の上げ下げ、手数料のアップには、踏み込まないということです。

しかし、民間金融機関は、実際に不利益を被っており、長期化すると経済への影響も大きくなるのではないかと思います。
